ICEH & LSHTM Win Queen's Anniversary PrizeICEH, as part of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, has been awarded a prestigious ‘Queen’s Anniversary Prize’. The Prizes are awarded every two years within the national honours system to ‘recognise and honour outstanding achievements by UK universities and colleges’. On 16th February 2006, Her Majesty the Queen, accompanied by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, presented the Prize Medal and Prize Certificate at an honours ceremony at Buckingham Palace. The ceremony was attended by the Director of ICEH, Professor Allen Foster, the Chairman of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Baroness Chalker, and several members of staff and students of ICEH. Acknowledging the Prize, Professor Allen Foster is quoted in The Times on 16th February 2006 as saying: “[the Prize] is a tribute to our staff, students and partners”. |
