The International Centre for Eye Health relies on grants and donations from individuals, trusts and foundations for its work. Any donation, large or small, will help to provide benefits for people with eye disease or at risk of blindness. You can support this work in a number of ways: If you would like more information on donating to ICEH please email Claire Walker at Claire.Walker@Lshtm.ac.uk. ICEH Students ScholarshipsScholarships support key individuals (mainly from low income countries) to undertake leadership training in Community Eye Health at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. ICEH students can be supported by donations made online through the following website: Make a Donation (select ICEH Students). Donations of any size are most welcome. For more information about ICEH students and scholarships, please contact Elizabeth Mercer at Elizabeth.Mercer@Lshtm.ac.uk. Educational ResourcesThis fund supports the costs of publishing and distributing the Community Eye Health Journal to 15,000 eye health workers worldwide. Sponsoring a subscription for an eye specialist in a developing country costs as little as £15. This Fund also provides support for the development of new teaching and educational materials, including books, slide sets, CD-Roms and posters, and supports information services for eye health workers in low income countries, including our partner regional resource centres. ResearchICEH’s team of more than 10 researchers is working with partners in more than 15 countries to investigate the causes of blindness and develop and evaluate effective treatments and interventions. 1.5 million children go blind each year. ICEH studies in Bangladesh and Nepal aim to improve the outcome of childhood cataract surgery. Blindness from trachoma is entirely preventable. ICEH is evaluating and monitoring trachoma control activities in Mali, Ghana, Morocco, Vietnam, Niger, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Nepal.
